
Tommaso BONINO is from Bologna, Italy.
He graduated in Engineering in 1994, he has experiences in individual and collective mobility management.
Since 2003, he is the technical manager at SRM, the public transport authority for the Bologna metropolitan area. Before, he has worked for private and public companies, as well as for several local bodies, at municipal and provincial level.
SRM owns public transport (PT) assets, regulates 140 millions PT trips per year, more than 50.000 urban parking slots, bike- and car-sharing urban services and supports the people-mover contract, management by the municipality; moreover promotes mobility services and deals with research and development in sustainable mobility projects – mainly funded by the European Commission.
He represents SRM within UITP, as member of the UITP Organising Authorities Committee, and POLIS. He also represents SRM within federMobilità (the non-profit association bringing together the administrations responsible for managing mobility at the regional, provincial, and municipal levels) and ALMA (the association of regional authorities). He also teaches a Master's degree at UNIBO, the Bologna University.
His main fields of expertise are related to mobility planning and regulation.
He’s been involved in many multidisciplinary and group works, and has participated in many congresses and studies, at national and international level.
