How cities and municipalities can turn climate challenges into opportunities

In order to facilitate a green transition, and to make cities more resilient to environmental change, the Polish Development Fund and Nordic Edge are collaborating to develop new tools for greener cities.

Based on the experience from an innovation process involving 3 municipalities from Poland and 1 from Norway, we will share tools and best practices, and put these to use in this workshop. Applying the principles from design-driven innovation, the workshop participants will gain a better understanding of both the innovation process in general and specific tools to be used in the different stages.

This workshop will be particularly useful for participants who are concerned with how we can use technology and innovation to solve societal challenges related to the green transition.

City representatives from:

Bieruń: ‘How to improve the dialogue between city institutions and residents in the process of designing urban space’

Rzeszów: ‘How to use ecological means of transport to reduce traffic jams and CO2 emissions’

Sulejówek: ‘How to safeguard green areas in the city’

Stavanger: ‘How to use new technologies to monitor, control and reduce pollution related to agricultural activities’
