Adrian Johnston is an experienced innovation leader currently serving as the Innovation Commissioner for Innovation City Belfast (ICB). 

He has over 25 years of experience in technology and innovation, with a primary focus on stimulating regional and international collaborations across industry, academia, government and communities. Adrian is the Chair of the Belfast Region City Deal Digital Pillar and provides strategic advice for the deployment of £120m funding aligned to the region’s technology and research excellence.

A priority for Adrian and Innovation City Belfast is to ensure innovation investment brings long term economic and societal benefit to the people of NI. Adrian has extensive experience of the community and voluntary sector as past Chair of the International Fund for Ireland and current Chair of the Community Foundation for NI. He advocates for a fair and equitable society where everyone is given the opportunity to thrive and belong.
