Markus Kressler is the founder and former CEO of Kiron Open Higher Education, an inclusive digital education platform, which was started to address the special needs of refugees. Markus built the organization from a volunteer team to more than 70 employees with several international offices.
It's become the largest higher education program for refugees worldwide, according to Forbes Magazine.
Prior to founding Kiron, Markus collected his first experiences as a social entrepreneur in an attempt to build the first digital volunteering platform in Germany.
In 2019, Markus decided to take an entrepreneurial break to focus on supporting other social & sustainable initiatives and lecture on social entrepreneurship. When he is not travelling with his van, he is coaching and consulting public organizations, companies and start-ups in the fields of digitalization,technology and education.
